As a kid my biggest ponder was
what I was going to be like when I got older.
I’d imagine myself in my grandma’s old bathroom getting ready.
Putting on makeup with a strong face structure
to do adult things.
As a kid you don’t understand
age isn’t just your body changing,
it’s the knowledge and wisdom you carry
from memory’s, experience, trauma.
Like the seasons we change
we grow and adapt
A person
Growing up is a journey we all take
From childhood innocence to adulthood’s wake.
We learn and we grow
and adapt through highs and lows
Discovering who we are as life unfolds.
With each year around the sun
we gain a new perspective
We chase our dreams, we stumble and fall
But it’s in those moments we find our all.
Childhood memories, like treasures we hold
Remind us of stories, both new and old.
We laugh, we cry, we learn to let go,
Embracing the changes that life bestows.
Growing up can be scary, that’s true,
But it’s also exciting, with adventures to pursue.
We find our passions, we find our way,
As we navigate the path, day by day.
So embrace the journey,
For growing up is a gift we can’t pretend.
With every step, we become more wise,
And in the end, we’ll see the beauty that lies.
