My name is Ellie King. I am a Sophomore at Salida High School, and this is my first year writing for The Tenderfoot Times newspaper. Although I was put into this class due to scheduling errors, I am thankful that I was. At first, I was a little afraid to take Tenderfoot because a lot of people I talked to said that the workload was a lot. But, so far, It’s been really fun. The newspaper is a good change of writing styles for me, and it’s been a really great experience.

I was born and raised here in Salida and I’ve been skiing since I was little. I am on both the club and high school swim teams, and I also run cross country in the fall. I have been on the swim team since I was six, and I started cross country in 5th grade. In my free time I like to draw, collect plants, and bake.
