Vander Ritchie, Co-Editor-In-Chief
Hey! My name is Vander Ritchie, and I’m a senior at SHS. I was born and raised in Salida, and this is my fourth year writing for Tenderfoot. My first year I was a staff reporter, my sophomore year I was promoted to assistant editor, last year I was the co-editor, and this year I’m co-Editor in Chief. I’m also the president of the SHS Gay-Straight Alliance, a member of the NHS, and the captain of the SHS Drama Team.
Outside of school, I’m an actor. I have been since I was 8, and I started performing in productions with Stage Left Theatre. More recently, I’ve been in commercials, short films, and Shakespeare in the Park. I’m also a local activist, campaigning for issues like racial justice, environmentalism, gay rights, and economic justice. In my spare time, I like to play jazz piano, listen to punk rock, watch old b-movies, and read classic literature.
