Tenderfoot Times

Vander Ritchie
Hey! My name is Vander Ritchie and I’m a junior at SHS. I was born and raised in Salida, and this is my third year writing for Tenderfoot. My first year I was a staff reporter, my sophomore year I was promoted to assistant editor, and this year I’m the co-editor. I’m also the president of the SHS Gay Straight Alliance, a member of the SHS branch of the Youth Climate Action Coalition, and a leading member of the SHS Drama Team.

Outside of school, I’m an actor. I have been since I was 8 and I started performing in productions with Stage Left Theatre. More recently, I’ve been in commercials, short films, and Shakespeare in the Park. I’m also a local activist, campaigning for issues like racial justice, environmentalism, gay rights, and economic justice. In my spare time, I like to play jazz piano, listen to punk rock, watch old b movies, and read classics.
