Gwen Ramsey, Co-Editor-in-Chief
Hi there! My name is Gwen Ramsey, and I am a senior this year at Salida High School. I have been a part of The Tenderfoot Times newspaper for four years now. My freshman year I was a staff reporter, my sophomore year I was an assistant editor, last year I was a co-editor and this year I’m the co-Editor-in-Chief! I first joined The Tenderfoot Times as a freshman because some older students who were editors at the time convinced me to. I guess in this instance peer pressure was a good thing because I ended up really enjoying writing for the newspaper! My favorite part about Tenderfoot is being able to talk with students in my school and community members who I may not usually get a chance to talk to. I love being involved in the newspaper by helping out staff reporters, contributing to the design of the paper and website, along with having fun in class also. I have lived in Salida since I was two and enjoy recreating in the outdoors. I am on the Salida High School mountain bike team and also the club and school alpine ski race teams in Leadville, CO. At SHS I am the senior class Vice President and a National Honor Society officer.
